Thank You Nick, For Showing Us “Who You Are”

The Who I Am tour is over – at least for now.

I’m oddly sad about it. I usually don’t get this attached to a tour, not unless it’s never ending (like say DNA but I digress.) So why am I down that this one is done? I think it’s because it’s one of the rawest, if not the rawest set of performances we’ve ever seen from Nick. Now, there’s a lot that could be said here. He’s talked at least generally about the highs and lows of the past year. We all know about them. And for all the right reasons he could stay guarded and we’d understand because we do know.

But we didn’t. Instead, he crafted a tour to tell a story he couldn’t say. He put his all out on that stage, performing songs that we know come from his heart and are his most personal of his entire career. He changed up the setlist from show to show, making it so there was no one setlist because he wanted to keep surprising fans. He wanted to keep being creative, to keep giving us something new. That sort of passion cannot be found in every artist. The fact he still cared so much? He’s one of a kind.

At every soundcheck, at every show, he stood up there as humble as ever thanking the fans for caring enough to go. For all the support and love, that we give because it’s so well deserved. Maybe I’m gushing too much here – and I know some will think so, but that means a lot to so many of us. If I’m being blunt, he didn’t have to even do that. We still would’ve gone; we still would’ve showed our love and support. He knows that, I hope. But the fact he did? It just adds to the specialness of this entire tour.

This tour was a love story. A love for the stage, a love for the music, a love for the passion and the creating. But like his song Made For Us I think it was a love story for the fans that stand by him too. And this doesn’t end at just the shows. The way fans rallied together, united as one to help promote and help him succeed? It’s been so beautiful. I met new friends, casual friendships ran deeper, and all of that is because of you, Nick Carter if by some chance you actually see this. You affect your fans and change their lives more than you’ll ever know. And everything I’ve seen since this tour got announced, whether if it was on Twitter, or with the Street Team, on the Fan Club, or with the streaming parties? So many people stepped up and it’s just been an outpouring of love. For you, and for one another.

I think that’s why I’m sad it’s over, because what a ride this has been, for all of us.

So, thank you for this tour, Nick. It’s been like no other you’ve ever done. We felt everything you put into it and we can only hope you felt everything we tried to give back. Thank you for your passion, your creativity, and your earnest way in which you give everything you can on that stage. Here’s hoping we see more shows from you soon.
