I Want to Thank You, For All of the Things You’ve Done…

 

This wasn’t the post I thought I’d be posting next.

I have two, started over on darksidebsb.com. But sometimes, circumstances send me into another direction, where I just feel this need to write my thoughts, my feelings and just hope that maybe other fans can relate. Reach people, you know? As much as I can with my modest little platform.

And honestly, that’s what Nick Carter does. On the daily.

With an ease I can’t even imagine.

He’s someone who’s reached so many fans over the years. Whether it was in person at a meet and greet, or a comic con. It could’ve been the way he sang to you during a concert. Hell, it could be a tweet or even a DM on Twitter, a video chat, something on Twitch…the possibilities have been endless over the span of his thirty year career. And he’s someone who’s never taken his career for granted. He’s hustled during every low and kept that same energy during every high.

Now, is he perfect? No. He’ll be the first to tell you this.

That’s okay though.

If I could tell tween Rose, anything. I’d tell her that sometimes the people you idolize? They can be as wonderful as you think they’ll be. That they do actually measure up to all those seemingly impossible ideals. Perhaps not in the exact way you thought. But hell, in ways you didn’t expect. That sometimes, that’s even better. Because it’s true. I remember my tween daydreams, who didn’t?

Turns out the imperfect person is better than the idealized one.

Who would’ve thought?

Because people sometimes forget that he is, in the end? Only human.

He is someone who’s learned and grown from his many mistakes. And again, he’ll be the first to say he’s made many. That’s okay, too. Because it’s taught him how to be better. Watching him grow from the person he used to be, and I’ve been a fan a long time so I do remember, has been a joy. He’s come so far and seeing that has just been incredible on that path to happiness. It’s inspiring to be honest, seeing him get back up every time the world tries to knock him down. Refusing to let the darkness win.

Now I could talk about the past few months but I don’t think I need to. And to be honest, I don’t want to.  I’d rather just…let the sunlight in, to quote another beautful song of his. This is a post of love, and light, and appreciation.

I just wanted him to know, after seeing this tweet today…

That Nick, we love you too.

We love your crazy energy on stage. We love your excitability over everything (from video games, to new songs, to random movies..). We love your passion about everything creative. We love your determination. We love your heart, because we know just how big it really is. We love your determination. We love your strength. We love all of who you are and the journey it took for you to get there.

This post isn’t perfect, it’s not polished but it’s from the heart.

All I want is for you to know Nick, if you somehow see this, is how much we all love you right back. I think I’m speaking on behalf of the fandom when I say…we got you. We’re not going anywhere and we’ll make sure we’ll remind you that we love you, just like you like to remind us. We’re here for you in every way a fan can be. Know you’re loved Nick, by millions of fans all around the world. You’ve given us so much over the years and now it’s our turn to give it right back.
